GET BACK YOUR DEPOSIT
TECHNOLOGY AND EXPERIENCE AT THE SERVICE OF RENTERS
WHO WE ARE
Up to 2% of renters, especially students, are scammed by landlords who feel to be in a position of strength.
Getbackyourdeposit.it is a non-profit service that provides support to tenants for free, guiding them on the path to getting their deposit back. This is possible through expertise on the matter and the use of digital automation.
THE PROJECT
Little information available and a weak position often makes renter give up their deposit and defend their rights against scams of the landlords.
Getbackyourdeposit.it was born in 2020 from the direct experience of the founding volunteers who have helped several students get their security deposit returned and avoid scams from homeowners in the Milan area.
We gather around the ideal that justice should be accessible to everyone and provide predictable outcomes.
For this reason, Get Back Your Deposit has developed as a nonprofit project that provides free support in the topic of tenancy law: a context in which the offended party often does not feel they have the means or knowledge to defend themselves.
The service is made possible by donations from individuals that believe in the same ideals, and is made possible by the work of volunteers. We rely on external collaborators to provide the highest quality service.

Founder and technical director
"Twice, I risked losing my deposit because the landlord wanted to scam me. I was frustrated, and would have given up those few hundred euros, if it wasn't for the fact that I'm stubborn and that I firmly believe that the system eventually manages to bring justice.
So, I found out that with the right information and a clear advice, getting back what is yours is simple. And today, it can be within everyone's reach. Here comes the idea: getbackyourdeposit.it".

"I am an idealist: the inspiration for my profession comes from my ideals of fairness and justice.
Often my clients would come to me after suffering an injustice in their house renting relationship. But sometimes it was too late, or they gave up on their rights because it was a small amount of money and too complex for them to follow.
I have always wondered how to disseminate a minimum of legal information - clear and complete - in order to protect especially young people and students so that they would not give up enforcing their rights.
Something concrete was needed, and getbackyourdeposit.it seemed to me to be the perfect tool to do it."
